Emillie Chiu Tsz-Ting, a signature fabric installation artist from Fine Arts (BA Hons) of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, has been active in theatre and filming productions for years specializing in craftsmanship from sets to costumes design and making. She appeared in stage productions including <Joe & Jim>, <Triste; in the eyes of> and <Tearless Honour> directed by Chit-man Chan.
Emillie further studied Stage Production and Sound Design in The University of Virginia in 2011 that she was invited to join the Wardrobe in the stage production <Parade> which involved loads of fancy Georgian costumes of more than 20 actors and actresses. After Emillie was back in Hong Kong, she became a part of a puppet theater group Make Friends with Puppet as a puppet maker in recent production <Momo’s Fancy Dress>.
Emillie has also been taking care of managerial roles for a couple of productions afterwards: she was the stage manager in <Forget Herostratus> and <Otherhood> by Not so Loud Theatre Company, <The Divas> musical by Heidi Mak, and production manager in commercial <Envy> of Estee Lauder.
Based on her experience in stage productions, Emillie has been getting more involved in filming in 2013 since her involvement in the feature film <My Name is Tanyusha> directed by Harry Oram as the set designer. After that she worked closely with Carey Rothman on art of a Canadian movie <Hacker> directed by Akan Satayev.
Most recently Emilie has been working as the Art Director in short film <The Gift> co-produced by Lisa Belcher and Harry Oram.
